A crack in your windshield can be a little scary, especially if something hits the glass and it cracks while you are driving the car. In most cases, the crack is not going to keep you from driving the vehicle, but if it is in the center of the driver's view and makes it hard to see where you are driving, it needs repairing as soon as possible. If you are traveling or driving a long distance and the windshield breaks, calling your roadside assistance company can be a great resource. While they are not very likely to cover the damage outright, they may be able to get you a discount on the work because of your membership, and they can help you find a company to make the repair that is in the area you are in.
If you are stopping for the night, sometimes the roadside company can send a mobile repair service to your hotel to replace the glass for you.
